Intermediate (Week 3) – Head of Marketing
This week the head of Marketing will be away on holiday so the intern will have to take this role. The tasks will include:
- To independently continue the roles from the previous week as well as:
Forwarding on or taking messages for any important phone calls (if the phone calls can’t be answered by the intern).
- To forward on important e-mails to other staff.
- To answer any pending e-mails.
- To continue adding contacts to the database.
- To continue uploading competitions to the website.
- To update Facebook page (take guidelines from the BFI Facebook page).
- To open post received by contacts with demos, catalogues and competition prizes.
- To create a message to send out to new Facebook added friends (the same as what is done with Twitter).
- To add new subscribers straight on to a specific database which sends out the e-newsletters and to check how many newsletters are being opened or are bouncing (not received).
- To sort out all e-mail that is no longer needed, is for any other staff, or has already been dealt with.
- To upload new Contra Deals.
- To create a new personal e-mail address to be able to e-mail contacts that the intern has an ongoing relationship with. This will also help if e-mails bounce back because of the @marketing ending to the e-mail (this sometimes is either blocked by the recipient or goes straight to the recipients junk mail).
- To review stats of the week and think of new ways to get the stats higher.
Review:
This week the intern has worked hard to fill all the distributors lists with updated existing contact information and new contact information. The intern has uploaded 3 competitions and has 3 pending. The intern has also uploaded 2 advertisements to the website. Since the contact has used our social networking sites we have more then twice as many viewers to the page as well as followers and fans. The intern is now completely confident making and receiving phone conversations and is organised and up to date with all e-mail responses.
