Internship - CultureCritic
Throughout my time at CultureCritic I have been in a comfortable environment and have felt confident that I am doing a good job. I am now fully able to phone up contacts and talk consistently about the website and am able to tell them any information they need to know which at first was one of my weaknesses because I was very nervous. I think my organisational skills have improved and I have enjoyed having my own reasonability’s and targets to meet. I thoroughly enjoyed being the head of marketing for a week because I felt in control and responsible for the running of the department which I thought I handled very well. I didn’t fully understand the term of Contra Deal at first and now I have set up 5 successfully. My strengths were defiantly gaining more clients and updating the social networking pages as I am very familiar with the use of social networking and have gained enough of my own contacts to get them all involved as part of advertisement. I worked with the ICA, Riverside Studios, The Gate Theatre and Premier PR the most, however the best relationship I built was with the Tate who after talking to a couple of times over the phone offered me a load of tickets for 3 different exhibitions. All in all I organised 13 competitions for the website and about 70 contacts which I got a lot of praise for. Nearly all the e-mails I sent out asking for contras and competitions were replied to. I feel that I got on well with the team and only got pulled up for little things like spelling and sometimes forgetting to add my manager into e-mails. I had 3 meetings with my manager, 2 in which I was praised for getting on with tasks so well and the other to ask if I could stay on longer, which I accepted.
